In July, four schoolgirls from Shtormove village (Luhansk region, Ukraine) – participants in the Tech Age Girls (TAG) project – and their teacher concluded their community project entitled, “Ukrainian Orchid,” which is dedicated to establishing an orchid reserve in their village.

Women in Turkmenistan Create Online Portal, Expand Internet Presence

Turkmen Women’s Portal

For the last six months, IATP supported the development of the first online network for women in Turkmenistan, as well as four other websites, as the result of a series of initiatives with women of a variety of backgrounds and ages. IATP offered free IT trainings, online consultations, and cross-border discussions with recognized specialists, which aimed to address issues related to gender-related inequality.

For the last six months, IATP supported the development of the first online network for women in Turkmenistan, as well as four other websites, as the result of a series of initiatives with women of a variety of backgrounds and ages. Moldovan Girls Discover Danger of Illegal Work

In April, Moldovan schoolgirls – participants in the Tech Age Girls project (TAG) – attended a series of seminars on the dangers of human trafficking and searching for legal jobs through the Internet. These seminars were organized by IATP in cooperation with Winrock International and New Perspectives for Women, a project funded by USAID.

In April, four schoolgirls from the town of Rakhiv (Uzhgorod region, Ukraine) – participants in the Tech Age Girls project (TAG) – and their teacher implemented their community project, entitled “Save Your Homeland,” which is aimed at cleaning the banks of the Tisa river in Rahiv.

TAG is an IREX project designed to equip Ukrainian girls from disadvantaged families and rural areas with technology skills to help them secure a brighter future. Since the beginning of October, 58 schoolgirls from six regions of Ukraine have attended IATP Step-by-Step training series.

Young and  enthusiastic women acquire new skills to start and run small businesses in Armenia  by attending courses, workshops, and online discussions at IATP centers  throughout the country. Over 30 participants learned about procedures for  starting a business in the course of an online discussion with Suzanna  Saratikyan and Maro Vagharshakyan, professors of Yeghegnadzor State College.  The participants also discussed several examples of successful businesses run  by women and enhanced their English language skills.
